Community Guidelines
Effective on public launch · Last updated: 14 July 2026
The Community is peers helping peers — placement prep, career switches, honest questions, hard-won answers. These rules keep it worth being in. They’re short, they’re enforced, and India’s IT Rules 2021 require us to publish them plainly — which we’d want to do anyway.
What the Community is for
- Asking and answering — interview experiences, prep strategies, career decisions, honest feedback on each other’s approach.
- Sharing what you learned — the OA pattern you just went through, the mistake you’d warn someone about, the resource that actually helped.
- Practising together — mock-interview partners, study groups, accountability.
The three rules that cover almost everything
- Post only what’s yours to post. No confidential employer material, no leaked question papers under NDA, no one else’s work presented as yours, no screenshots of private conversations without consent.
- Argue with ideas, never at people. Disagreement is welcome; harassment, hate, and pile-ons are not — and “it was a joke” isn’t a defence.
- Be who you say you are. No impersonation, no fake credentials, no “my friend at Google says” invented for clout. This community runs on the same rule as the product: claims need to be real.
What the law requires us to prohibit — the full list
Under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules 2021, content in any of these categories will be removed, and repeat posting will end your community access. Do not post content that:
- Belongs to someone else and you don’t have the right to share it
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or paedophilic, or invades another person’s privacy — including any intimate image shared without consent
- Is harassing, or hateful on the basis of gender, religion, caste, race, or ethnicity
- Encourages money laundering, gambling, or any unlawful activity
- Harms minors in any way
- Infringes a patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right
- Deceives or misleads about the origin of a message, or is knowingly false — including impersonation of any person
- Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites an offence
- Contains a virus or malicious code designed to disrupt or limit any computer system
- Is patently false information, published with intent to mislead or harass a person, entity, or agency
- Violates any law currently in force
How enforcement works
- You report, we act on timelines we’re legally bound to — use the Report button on any post or thread, or email grievance@roleora.com. Prohibited-category content is actioned within 72 hours of a report; non-consensual intimate imagery within 24 hours. Full timelines on the Grievance Redressal page.
- Moderation is human and accountable. Removals are logged with a reason; if we removed something of yours, you’ll see why, and you can appeal via the grievance process.
- Restrictions escalate honestly: a warning, then a posting restriction, then removal from the Community. Threats to people’s safety skip the ladder.
Two promises back at you
- Nothing you post in the Community is ever used as AI context — your posts and your career record never mix. This is enforced in the product’s architecture, not just policy.
- These rules don’t change quietly. Material changes are announced in-app, and we’ll remind you these rules exist at least once a year — briefly, because you have better things to read.
